He has built a strong partnership with Gabriel Magalhães under Mikel Arteta and is widely regarded as one of the Gunners’ most vital players, alongside David Raya, Martin Odegaard, and Bukayo Saka.
Despite Liverpool securing the Premier League title on Sunday, Arsenal have maintained the best defensive record in the division, conceding only 29 goals in 34 matches throughout the 2024/25 season.
Saliba is under contract at the Emirates until the summer of 2027, but that hasn’t deterred interest from other clubs.
According to the Mail, Real Madrid are looking to reinforce their squad and have identified three Premier League players as potential signings, including Saliba.
As things stand, Madrid face the possibility of a trophyless season after their Champions League quarter-final elimination and their 3-2 defeat against Barcelona in the Copa del Rey final on April 26.
They currently trail Barcelona by four points in the La Liga title race, with five games remaining.
Few players turn down the opportunity to join Real Madrid, but it remains unclear if any formal approach has been made for Saliba.
However, Arsenal fans believe the player may have offered a clue regarding his future.
Photos surfaced on social media last week showing Saliba’s newly installed home gym, prompting some supporters to speculate that he intends to stay in north London for the foreseeable future.
One said: “This one ain’t leaving Arsenal.”
Another added: “Do people doubt he’s here for the long haul?
“Madrid can do what they want, put out all the PR articles they want about being in his ear. I believe 100% he’s committed to win trophies here, and if we don’t, that’s when he’ll likely want to leave!”
A third claimed: “It means he is not going anywhere.”
While a fourth said: “He is here to stay!”
