Jadon Sancho ‘reaches agreement’ with European team as Man Utd exit moves closer

Jadon Sancho has reportedly reached a “principle agreement” with one of Europe’s major football clubs as rumors about his future at Manchester United persist.

Sancho, 24, has been heavily rumored to leave United this summer, even after rejoining the team under Erik ten Hag.

Last season, the winger was loaned to Borussia Dortmund following a highly publicized dispute with his manager.

After Ten Hag criticized Sancho’s training efforts in a press conference, the winger responded by accusing the United boss of making him a “scapegoat,” calling the claims “completely untrue.”

Sancho was sent to Germany after refusing to apologize to Ten Hag but has since returned to the Red Devils for the 2024/25 season.

Earlier this month, Ten Hag mentioned that the two had “drawn a line” under their conflict without confirming whether Sancho had personally apologized.

Despite participating in pre-season matches against Rangers and Arsenal, Sancho remains linked with a permanent move away from United.

Several clubs, including Dortmund, Juventus, Paris Saint-Germain, and an unnamed Premier League team, have reportedly shown interest in signing the England international.

However, PSG seems to have taken the lead in securing Sancho’s services.

Sports Zone (via Get French Football News) reports that the Ligue 1 club has reached a “principle agreement” with Sancho for a move to the Parc des Princes.

It is suggested that PSG wants Sancho to replace Kylian Mbappe, who joined Real Madrid on a free transfer earlier this summer.

The outlet notes that United would be open to his sale for a €60m (£50.7m) transfer fee.

United initially paid around €85m (£73m) to acquire Sancho from Dortmund in 2021.

Speaking earlier this month, Ten Hag indicated that Sancho might still have a future at Old Trafford despite their past challenges.

“As we said, we draw the line. Manchester United need good players and Jadon is a good player. We have drawn that line and we move on,” said Ten Hag.

Sancho played in United’s 2-1 defeat to Arsenal early Sunday morning.

Ten Hag’s team is set to face Real Betis on Thursday before playing Liverpool in another warm-up match on Sunday.

They will then meet Manchester City in the Community Shield on August 10, with their opening Premier League game against Fulham on August 16.
