After spending the latter part of the previous season on loan at Borussia Dortmund, where he helped them reach the Champions League final, Sancho rejoined the United squad after reportedly resolving his issues with Ten Hag.
However, following his appearance as a substitute in the Community Shield match against Manchester City — where he missed a crucial penalty — Sancho was left out of subsequent United matchday squads.
Under Chelsea’s new manager Enzo Maresca, Sancho has already contributed three assists in three games, showing some fans that he’s performing better outside of Old Trafford.
Shortly after United’s 3-0 defeat to Tottenham, Chelsea’s official Twitter account posted a photo of Sancho and Cole Palmer celebrating their 4-2 victory over Brighton on Saturday. Sancho reshared the post, leading some fans to believe it was a subtle dig at Ten Hag.
Speaking about Sancho this month, Chelsea boss Maresca told reporters: “I know Jadon very well because I watch him many times in the past, and I know what he can give us.
“I have the feeling that Jadon is a guy who needs love. This is what I thought when I spoke with him before he joined us.
“Also, he has the desire to show the player that he is. For me, he just has to enjoy football – that’s the reason why they play, because they they’re happy and they want to play football. They are there to enjoy football.”
