Jadon Sancho reveals ‘inside information’ about Dortmund move in Man Utd dig

Jadon Sancho recently shared details of a pre-season talk with Marco Reus, during which Reus encouraged him to make a comeback to Borussia Dortmund.

Sancho, having been excluded from the Manchester United first team, did indeed join Dortmund on loan for the remainder of the season earlier this month.

The 23-year-old’s rift with Erik ten Hag escalated when he accused the manager of dishonesty regarding his training performances, leading to his exclusion from the matchday squad against Arsenal in September.

Sancho’s descent was swift, considering he was Ten Hag’s most utilized player in pre-season and commenced the July friendly against his former team in Las Vegas.

Following the match, a 3-2 loss for the Reds, Sancho had a brief exchange with his former teammate Reus on the pitch.

“That Vegas clip, he [Reus] was telling me to come back to Dortmund,” Sancho told the club’s YouTube channel.

“That’s inside information and he said ‘Whenever you’re ready bro I’m here’. I’ve always had it in my mind that if it didn’t work out somewhere, BVB is a place I know and everyone knows me inside out. It’s good to know the club and the players back me.”

Sancho made a strong start to his return to Dortmund, entering as a substitute in his debut to assist Reus in a 3-0 victory against Darmstadt.

In the subsequent match at FC Koln on Saturday, the winger earned a penalty, but despite his efforts, he couldn’t secure the spot-kick opportunity, which went to the regular taker Niclas Fullkrug.

Sancho’s move to Dortmund is a straightforward half-season loan, lacking any option or obligation for a permanent transfer. The Bundesliga club’s sporting director, Sebastian Kehl, has acknowledged the unlikelihood of affording the forward in the upcoming summer.

Manchester United is optimistic about Sancho rediscovering his form during his stint with the German club, aiming to recover a more substantial portion of the £73 million invested in him in 2021.

Recent indications propose that the winger has been presented to Saudi Pro League clubs at a valuation of £50 million.
