Sancho has reportedly impressed manager Enzo Maresca with his dedication and positive attitude in training.
The 24-year-old winger joined Chelsea on a season-long loan from Manchester United during the summer transfer window.
With Chelsea seemingly on course to finish high enough in the league to trigger a clause for a permanent transfer, his future remains uncertain.
Since January, Sancho has neither scored nor provided an assist, raising doubts about his overall impact.
Former Chelsea defender William Gallas has criticized the winger’s performances, stating that Sancho “can’t stay” at the club.
He acknowledged that Sancho initially showcased flashes of the form he displayed at Borussia Dortmund but noted a decline in his consistency.
In Chelsea’s recent 1-0 defeat to Arsenal, Sancho was included in the starting lineup but failed to influence the game, with the team rarely testing Arsenal’s goalkeeper, David Raya.
Reports suggest that Chelsea could negotiate a fee with Manchester United to bypass the £25 million buy-out clause. According to Gallas, this might be a sensible option for the club, as mentioned in the Mirror.
However, it was Maresca who championed Sancho’s arrival at Stamford Bridge. Unless the manager has had a change of heart, he may still value Sancho’s contributions on the training ground above his lack of end product in games.
“Very happy, very happy for him. He was very good,” Maresca gushed back in September while chatting about Sancho.
“I have a feeling that Jadon is a guy that needs love. This is what I thought when I spoke with him before he joined us.
“Also I know he has the desire to show the player he is, but for me, it is just to enjoy football. This is the reason why they play.”
