Manchester United and Tottenham were reportedly among the clubs whose bids were declined by the player, who instead chose to commit to a fresh deal.
Details of that contract have since emerged, revealing a £65million release clause that will be triggered in January — a factor that could ignite fierce competition for his services in the New Year.
Alongside United and Spurs, Liverpool, Chelsea, and Arsenal are also said to be seriously interested in the 25-year-old, who has registered six goals and three assists in 11 Premier League outings this season.
Semenyo has not requested a transfer, and Bournemouth remain determined to retain him until the campaign concludes.
The release clause will be reactivated in the summer, but at a reduced amount.
Regardless of whether a move materializes in January or later, Semenyo has already spoken about his ambition to join a club that competes in Europe’s elite tournaments.
The London-born forward, who once trialed with the Gunners in his youth, identifies as a Gunners supporter, having ‘watched them all his life.’
‘I am an Arsenal fan,” he told The Athletic in an interview in October 2024.
‘I don’t conflict the two with my job. It is great to play against Arsenal, a team I have watched all my life and I want to play for the top clubs as well. In order for that to happen I need to prove it.’
Asked if joining Arsenal would be a dream come true, he added: ‘Yeah, any team that plays Champions League, Europa (League) — that’s the aim.
‘I know that’s not going to come with a click of my fingers, it’s going to take some time. It’s going to take goals.
‘It’s going to take a lot of consistent performances. But I’ve worked all my life for that and I’m just going to continue working hard. That’s my mentality.’
