Alan Shearer has questioned Thomas Tuchel’s reason behind Chelsea’s poor display in the 1-1 draw against Brighton, and says there is an obvious issue in the club’s dressing room.
Chelsea went ahead in the first half when Hakim Ziyech’s effort beat Robert Sanchez at his near post, but the all-around muted celebration left supporters and pundits puzzled.
Brighton had been applying pressure in the first half and were unfortunate to even go behind, having dominated the ball in Chelsea’s half.

Brighton continued where they left off after the break and got their reward when skipper Aidan Webster headed home from a corner.
The draw means the Blues are now four matches without a victory in the Premier League, with five of their last 10 Premier League games ending all square.
Tuchel claimed in his post-match interview that the reason behind the lack of celebration was tiredness, but Shearer was not convinced.
Speaking on Premier League Productions after the clash, the legendary Premier League player said that it was a sign that there was an issue in the club’s dressing room.
“Lack of celebration, lack of reaction. Heads down. I don’t need any more evidence there’s an issue in that dressing room,” he said, via ChelsTransfer on Twitter.
And Shearer, also dismissed Tuchel’s view that his side were suffering from fatigue — suggesting the strength in depth the German coach has at his disposal means he can rotate.
“Don’t accept that, I’m not having that,” Shearer replied when being shown a clip of Tuchel speaking. “I get it’s been a tough time for every football club in the world, they’ve all had very difficult circumstances, as has everyone, not just football.
“But he’s got a bench tonight that’s worth £220million. Kovacic, Havertz, Werner, Pulisic… [Tuchel] left Mount out on Saturday, brought Mount back in tonight.
“That performance, certainly going forward, was not a tired performance. “That performance going forward was a team that’s really struggling on confidence and I’m not sure that they’re all on the same page.
“That for me is why it was a poor performance.”
