Starting with the goalkeeper, Shearer picked Nottingham Forest’s Matz Sels as his best this season.
Shearer said via Premier League’s official website: “Outstanding all season, pulling off some vital stops and commanding the box so well for a Forest side who have the second-best defensive record in the league.”
Shearer’s lineup features Sels (Nottingham Forest) in goal; a backline of Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil van Dijk (both Liverpool), Nikola Milenkovic (Nottingham Forest), and Antonee Robinson (Fulham).
The midfield comprises Moises Caicedo and Cole Palmer (both Chelsea), alongside Ryan Gravenberch (Liverpool). Upfront, he selected Bryan Mbeumo (Brentford), Chris Wood (Nottingham Forest), and Mohamed Salah (Liverpool).
As manager of the team, Shearer opted for Arne Slot, whose Liverpool side currently leads the table by five points over Manchester City.
Liverpool has lost just once this season, while Arsenal, City, and Chelsea each have two defeats.
The Premier League is on pause for the international break and will resume on November 23, with Leicester City hosting Chelsea to kick off the next round of fixtures.
