Bernardo Silva highlighted two Arsenal talents when prompted to select three non-Portuguese players for his ideal Euro 2024 national squad.
With a formidable lineup, Portugal is a strong contender, as Cristiano Ronaldo has confidently stated their ‘deserved’ victory in the competition, setting them apart from rivals like England and France.

Among the notable players at Roberto Martinez’s disposal are Manchester United’s Bruno Fernandes, Ruben Dias, and Silva himself. Silva’s first pick was France’s new sensation at Real Madrid, Kylian Mbappe, whom he described as a ‘beast’.
He began: “I would say Kylian Mbappe definitely. I played with him and he’s a beast. I love him.”
The Chelsea midfielder deliberately excluded his club colleagues, instead favoring two Arsenal standouts as the Gunners were formidable opponents in the last Premier League season.
He selected Declan Rice, who was previously rumored to join Manchester City but ultimately signed with Arsenal.
Additionally, the 29-year-old praised William Saliba, commending the young Arsenal defender for his exceptional skills at the back.
Silva added: “I’m going for one midfielder. I’m going to say Declan Rice. I really like him and I’m not going to say any City players, so you don’t think that I’m going with friends otherwise I could have said like Rodri or a striker or whatever… so I’m not going to say any teammates.
“I’m going to go with Saliba. I think he’s a really good defender.”
Mbappe, Rice, and Saliba are all present in Germany for Euro 2024, representing France and England.
Mbappe and Saliba are key figures in the French squad, while Rice is anticipated to be a starter for England in their inaugural match against Serbia.
