Arne Slot anticipates official confirmation as Jurgen Klopp’s successor in the coming days and weeks. The Dutchman was impressed by Liverpool’s 4-2 victory over Tottenham.
After Feyenoord’s 5-0 win against PEC Zwolle, Slot mentioned that he watched the beginning of Liverpool’s match and saw star player Mohamed Salah score a “great” first goal.

“I saw a few minutes of the game but we had to come to the stadium,” Slot told reporters.
“Just the first goal, a great goal. It was a good win from Liverpool. If the official confirmation is there, and I go there, I will watch a lot of games from them. Sometimes in life, opportunities come along and you have to listen.
“I have made that choice for myself. In the next days and weeks, you will see the announcement. Last year I made the choice to stay [turning down interest from Tottenham] and now, I probably made another choice.”
Slot, along with returning Michael Edwards and new sporting director Richard Hughes, face a significant decision regarding Mohamed Salah’s future.
Last summer, Liverpool turned down a £150 million offer from Saudi Arabia. However, with just one year remaining on Salah’s contract, the club must either secure him with a new deal or consider selling him.
Additionally, Salah’s recent dispute with Klopp during Liverpool’s 2-2 draw against West Ham fueled more speculation about his future, especially after he declined to comment on the incident, stating to reporters, “If I speak, there will be fire.”
But, Klopp has since moved to downplay the seriousness of the clash, although he conceded he is unsure what the future holds for Salah. “Completely resolved, it’s no problem,” he said of the incident on Friday.
“If we didn’t know each other for that long, I’m not sure how we would deal with it. But we’ve known each other for that long and respect each other too much that it’s really no problem. I think we have the right to deal with these kinds of things completely independent of any expectations from the outside. So we are absolutely fine with it, that’s a long story.
“In general, the best situation would be that everyone’s in the best possible place, we win the games, we score loads of goals and yes, then the situation probably would not have been exactly like that, because Mo wouldn’t have been on the bench in the first place – things like that. Of course, it all depends on each other.”
Asked about Salah’s future at the club, Klopp said: “It’s not my subject anymore. I don’t think I should speak about it, others will decide that, especially Mo. Those decisions will be made by other people.”
