Luis Suarez continued his superb start at Atletico Madrid, with a record-breaking brace in their 2-2 draw with Celta Vigo on Monday.
The Uruguayan forward struck just before the break at the Wanda Metropolitano to make the scores level, after their opponents had taken the lead through Santi Mina.
Suarez got another goal early in the second half to give the La Liga leaders the lead.
The two goals took Suarez’s goal tally for Atletico Madrid up to 16 in just 17 LaLiga matches, since arriving from Barcelona last summer.
The 34-year-old striker is now the first player to score 16 goals in his first 17 matches for a club in the Spanish top-flight in the 21st century.
The previous best of 15 goals in the same number of games was set by Juventus superstar Cristiano Ronaldo during his stunning start to his spell at Real Madrid from Man United in 2009.
The draw means Atletico are now eight points clear of Barcelona and Real Madrid, with one outstanding game still left to play.

Suarez has been very instrumental in their impressive campaign so far. He leads the league goal chart, having scored three more than Barcelona talisman Lionel Messi.
Atletico manager Simeone said last month that he knew the attacker would make a big impact at the club after his first phone call with him before the tramsfer move went through.
Meanwhile, Ronald Koeman admitted that he would have preferred Suarez had joined Cristiano Ronaldo at Juventus instead of posing a threat to Barca’s title hopes.
