Wenger hits back at Emery over claims Arsenal were in decline
Former Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has hit back at his successor at the Emirates Stadium, Unai Emery after the Spaniard manager claimed he inherited the club that was in decline.
Emery took over from Arsene Wenger who spent 22 years at Arsenal and left the club in 2018.

Unai Emery had gotten Wenger frustrated when he said that, “Arsenal was a club on a downward slope for two years before I arrived.”
“We stopped this fall and even began to rebuild the club with the Europa League final and fifth place in the league…” he told France Football.

The former PSG boss, who was sacked after a poor run of results in November, offended Arsene Wenger by his comments.
