Tammy Abraham rejects Chelsea’s latest contract offer

Tammy Abraham has rejected Chelsea’s latest contract offer. The England international is looking for parity with the club’s other stars before committing signing with the club.

Abraham has seen a host of players pledge their allegiance to Chelsea with Reece James, Mason Mount, Fikayo Tomori, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Billy Gilmour all signing a deal for the long-term.

However, the striker has seen the likes of Callum Hudson-Odoi cash in big-style in the past one year and is determined to hold out for a deal around that same level.

Hudson-Odoi agreed a new deal with Chelsea last September which was worth up to £180,000-a-week.

Abraham has scored 15 goals already this campaign and has forced his way into the plans of England manager Gareth Southgate.

He has two years left to run on his current deal, so there is no immediate rush but with the clock ticking the blues have a decision to make on how highly they rate the forward.

Abraham has enjoyed a breakthrough season at the club, continuing the form that saw him score 26 goals in 40 matches in all competitions on loan at Aston Villa last campaign.

But he has struggled for fitness of late with an ankle problem, which has seen Frenchman Olivier Giroud profit from a run in the team.

Chelsea will play Everton at Stamford Bridge on Sunday as they aim to consolidate their position in the top four and remain at Europe’s top table next campaign.
