Manchester United head coach Erik ten Hag is ready to allow Fred to join Fulham as the club put the final touches on an opening offer for Chelsea’s Mason Mount.
Fred was seen in talks with Fulham boss Marco Silva after Man United’s 2-1 victory against the team at Old Trafford on Sunday.
The Brazil midfielder has one year left on his contract at Old Trafford and he’s fallen out of favour under Ten Hag, even if the Dutchman still calls on him for certain games.

Fred provided a superb assist for Bruno Fernandes in the win against Fulham but he has fallen behind the likes of Casemiro and Eriksen in the pecking order.
Jose Mourinho signed the player in a £52m deal from Shakhtar Donestsk in 2018 and though he’s at times struggled in the north-west, he’s played over 200 matches for the Red Devils.
But, with United now preparing an opening £50m bid for Mason Mount, Ten Hag needs to balance the books in order to keep the bulk of his £100million budget on an outlay for a new striker.
And the Manchester Evening News claim Man United will strongly consider an offer from Fulham, with Ten Hag willing to allow Fred leave.
Scott McTominay is now a target for Newcastle but he’s the youngest of United’s senior midfielders.
Fred, Eriksen, Casemiro and Bruno Fernandes are all over 28, while Marcel Sabitzer is 29.
Mount has one year left on his Chelsea contract and he appeared emotional during the end-of-season lap of honour at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.
Manchester United are Mount’s preferred destination, despite the interest from Arsenal, Newcastle United and Liverpool.
