This contract, valued close to £250 million, now holds the record for the longest in Premier League history, overtaking Chelsea’s nine-year deal for Cole Palmer.

Since joining City from Borussia Dortmund in summer 2022 for £50 million, Haaland has been a sensation, scoring 111 goals in just 126 matches.

Here’s a look at the revised highest earners after Haaland’s monumental new deal.

Kai Havertz earns £280,000 per week at Arsenal, after being signed from Chelsea for an initial £60 million with an additional £5 million in potential add-ons in the summer of 2023. His contract includes an extra £50,000 per week in potential bonuses. Although he silenced critics in his debut season, he faced severe criticism from Arsenal fans for his poor finishing as Mikel Arteta’s team was eliminated from the FA Cup by Manchester United.

Jack Grealish, 29, signed a £300,000 per week contract with Manchester City in 2021 after a £100 million transfer from Aston Villa. Despite being the third highest-paid player in Pep Guardiola’s squad, his 15 goal contributions in 145 games have fallen short of expectations.

Bruno Fernandes, the standout performer at Manchester United, earns a base salary of £300,000 per week, totaling around £15.6 million per year. His contract also includes an additional £75,000 per week in bonuses. He has been a key figure at Old Trafford, winning the Sir Matt Busby Player of the Season award multiple times.

Bernardo Silva, who accounts for a significant portion of this list, was offered a £500,000 per week contract by Saudi Pro League side Al Hilal in 2023. However, he opted to extend his contract with Manchester City.

Marcus Rashford earns £325,000 per week at Manchester United, placing him second on the club’s payroll. However, the 27-year-old England international has faced exclusion from Ruben Amorim’s squad and is linked with several January moves. He has expressed his desire for a new challenge.

Raheem Sterling’s wages are currently split between Chelsea and his season-long loan club, Arsenal. Both clubs reportedly pay the former Manchester City winger, who has scored just one goal this term, around £162,500 per week. If he returns to Stamford Bridge in the summer, he will replace Reece James as Chelsea’s top earner.

Mohamed Salah, earning £350,000 per week, is in the final year of his contract with Liverpool. The 32-year-old Egyptian has been a crucial player since joining in 2017, and Liverpool fans are eager for him to sign a new deal as interest from Saudi Arabian clubs intensifies.

Casemiro, also earning £350,000 per week, joined Manchester United for £70 million from Real Madrid. Although he impressed initially, he faced criticism during the 2023/24 campaign and has been mostly benched this season.

Kevin De Bruyne’s title as the highest-paid Premier League player was taken over by Haaland’s new deal. The 33-year-old Manchester City player is one of the all-time greats in English football and may leave at the end of his contract in the summer after a decade at the Etihad.

No Premier League player has ever earned more than £500,000 per week until Haaland’s latest contract. His record-breaking deal sets a new standard in football wages.

After signing his record-breaking deal, Haaland said: “I am super happy. I am proud. It is difficult to put into words because it is a big moment. I am happy and that is the right word to use.

“In the end, speaking with the people I spoke with, the hunger and the support that I have been getting for the last couple of years from the board, from the bosses and from Pep, it was an easy decision. I am delighted.”
