The six Arsenal stars who have already started pre-season training revealed

Six Arsenal first-team players have joined Mikel Arteta in Marbella for a mini training camp ahead of pre-season.

The Gunners narrowly missed out on the Premier League title last season, finishing just two points behind the champions despite dropping points in only two games from January onwards.

Arteta and Arsenal face a challenging start to the new season, with games against Aston Villa, Manchester City, and Tottenham in the first six weeks.

To prepare, several players not involved in major tournaments have flown to Spain to work on their fitness, according to CBS.

Jurrien Timber, whose debut season with Arsenal was cut short by a cruciate knee ligament injury, is among those looking to make a big impression on Arteta.

Ben White, who controversially missed out on England’s Euro 2024 squad, is also present, along with Fabio Vieira, who is under pressure to prove himself two years after his £35 million move from Porto.

The Portugal Under-21 international had limited playing time last season, with Arteta reportedly unimpressed with his training efforts.

Joining them are three Hale End Academy graduates with uncertain futures: Emile Smith Rowe, Reiss Nelson, and Eddie Nketiah, who all struggled for first-team opportunities as last season progressed.

Arsenal are likely to consider offers for all three. Smith Rowe has previously attracted interest from Aston Villa, where former Arsenal manager Unai Emery is now in charge.

Nketiah is reportedly being pursued by four clubs, while Nelson has informed Arsenal of his desire for a permanent move.

Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard is set to join the group shortly.

The Gunners will face Manchester United at Los Angeles’ SoFi Stadium on July 28 before playing Liverpool in Philadelphia three days later.
