Thomas Tuchel, the head coach of Bayern Munich, has expressed his willingness to consider the role of Barcelona manager.

This declaration from Tuchel comes shortly after Xavi revealed his decision to step down as Barcelona boss, a development that unfolded within the last 24 hours.

Despite being under scrutiny at Bayern, where the team is currently trailing leaders Bayer Leverkusen by two points in the Bundesliga, Tuchel has indicated his openness to a potential move to La Liga.

Rumors suggest that the 50-year-old manager had disagreements with Bayern’s leadership regarding the unsuccessful signings of Declan Rice and Joao Palhinha during the summer.

Tuchel has now signaled his interest in La Liga, highlighting his enjoyment of working with Spanish players.

While speaking at an event with Bayern fan club Red Stars in Heidenheim on Sunday, Tuchel said: ‘Moving abroad would appeal to me again.

‘Spain has an extraordinary league.

‘From my perspective, and based on my experience working with Spaniards, they are characterised by a tremendous amount of self-confidence.

‘When you speak with Spanish players, I quickly get the sense that you are engaging with the person.’

In October, Uli Hoeness, the honorary president of Bayern, criticized Tuchel for accusing the club’s leadership of providing him with a ‘thin squad’ following the conclusion of the summer transfer window.

‘Those statements are a feast for the media, especially the tabloids,’ Hoeness said.

‘Some, including the coach, made unwise statements, because I shouldn’t make my own team look bad by saying our squad is too thin. We don’t have a thin squad.’
