Thomas Tuchel has asked Chelsea’s board to sign Marquinhos from Paris Saint-Germain this summer, according to reports.
The blues are already making plans for the summer transfer window and they are believed to be in the market for a new striker with Romelu Lukaku and Erling Haaland on their shortlist.
However, according to the Sunday World, Tuchel has put forward his recommendations to Chelsea and one of the names on the list proposed is Marquinhos.
The Brazilian star spent just over two years playing under Tuchel at PSG and formed a good partnership with Thiago Silva, who has thrived at Stamford Bridge since joining the club on a free transfer last summer.
Chelsea, however, will face a huge task of reuniting Tuchel with Marquinhos as he will still have three years left on his current contract with PSG this summer.
Speaking last week, Tuchel conceded he would give his own opinions to Chelsea’s board about their transfer targets but says he will not get unhappy if the club are unable to secure the names he will put forward.
‘I have opinions about what we can add to the group to get better,’ said Tuchel. ‘This is my job and I will give my opinion and I am asked my opinion and we will do this and sometimes opinions change.

‘This is also a process and I have my ideas of course. I have ideas of certain profiles. This is not about me wishing for this player A and B and if they don’t come I will get angry. This was never like this in my whole career. This will not be like this.
‘I totally understand there are issues to solve with the agents, the player, the interests of a club. It is not only about me and my wishes.
‘I talk with the club and give my opinion and we share this with the scouting and of course I’m involved and I should be involved and I have absolutely the feeling that I am involved.
‘The players that we have are fantastic players with big personalities. Right now is even the moment where we get to know each other better and better and we have big games coming and coming and crucial times ahead of us.
‘We will have a very clear picture of our group at least and the stronger they perform the harder it is to improve the squad from outside. But there is always room and there are always ideas and we will find out.
‘I have the strong feeling we are not in a rush and we are not in a big need and very relaxed. Right now everybody is fully focused and it is not the moment to get distracted with any other subjects.’
