Arsenal have sacked manager Unai Emery after the side’s worst run of results since 1992.
Arsenal are without a victory in their last seven games after Thursday’s 2-1 loss against Eintracht Frankfurt in the Europa League.
Arsenal have won only four of their 13 Premier League matches this campaign and are now eighth, eight points adrift of the Champions League places.
Unai Emery was appointed as successor to Arsene Wenger in 2018 but has lasted just 18 months as the club’s head coach.
Former Arsenal winger and member of ‘The Invincibles’, Freddie Ljungberg, will take charge of the first team while they search for a permanent replacement for Unai Emery.
As announced on Arsenal’s website:

‘The decision has been taken due to results and performances not being at the level required.
‘We have asked Freddie Ljungberg to take responsibility for the first team as interim head coach. We have full confidence in Freddie to take us forward.
‘The search for a new head coach is underway and we will make a further announcement when that process is complete.’
