WATCH: Union Berlin manager sent off for hitting Bayern’s Leroy Sane in the face

Union Berlin manager Nenad Bjelica is likely to face a significant suspension following an incident where he physically confronted Bayern Munich star Leroy Sane.

In the Bundesliga match, Bayern secured a 1-0 victory, with Raphael Guerreiro scoring the sole goal just after halftime.

Late in the second half at the Allianz Arena, a major controversy unfolded when Sane became involved in a shocking altercation with the opposing manager.

Strangely, despite his team trailing by a goal, Bjelica clung onto the ball and refused to relinquish it to the former Manchester City winger.

Sane attempted to slap the ball out of Bjelica’s hand, prompting the manager to respond by forcefully shoving him in the face on two occasions.

A brawl erupted, involving players from both teams, including debutant Eric Dier. Ultimately, referee Frank Willenborg unsurprisingly gave Bjelica his marching orders.

However, Bjelica did not leave the touchline quietly. As he made his way to the executive boxes, he appeared eager for a confrontation with Bayern supporters.

Staff members had to intervene, restraining him and calming him down as he observed the final minutes from the stands.

With this incident, Bayern now finds themselves four points behind league leaders Bayer Leverkusen, setting up a crucial clash between the two teams on February 10.
