Van de Beek wants to leave Man Utd amid talks with Ed Woodward

Manchester United midfielder Donny van de Beek wants to leave Old Trafford after less than one season with the Premier League giants.

The Holland international has been left shocked after starting only two league matches this campaign under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

van de Beek was one of the club’s flagship signings last summer after joining the Red devils from Ajax in a £35m deal.

But he has spent most of the season on the sidelines after starting justv11 matches in total in all competitions, despite Paul Pogba missing some part of the campaign through injuries.

The 23-year-old fears he has no long term future at Old Trafford and that he will have to find a new team this summer to kick-start his career.

Despite establishing himself in the Dutch national team, he is also worried his lack of game time opportunities will see him miss out on the Euros.

He will hold showdown talks with the club executive vice chairman Ed Woodward before the end of the campaign in order to get answers as to why he has been ignored.

De Beek has been sidelined with an injury for the last month, but he could be available again for Manchester United’s trip to AC Milan in the Europa League on Thursday.

It remains to be seen if Solskjaer will include him in the team, with speculations swirling around Manchester that he never wanted to sign De Beek at all.

Despite his lack of game time, De Beek will not be short of offers at the end of the season should both parties agree to cut their losses.
