Though always promising, Vini Jr has shown even greater consistency in recent years. Last season, he played a pivotal role in Real Madrid’s double-winning campaign, scoring a crucial goal in their 2-0 Champions League final win over Dortmund, and finishing with 24 goals in 39 games.
This season, his impressive form has continued, with eight goals and seven assists in just 14 matches.
With his current trajectory and age, it seems likely that Vini Jr will spend the prime years of his career at Madrid, provided he stays injury-free.
However, he surprised fans by admitting there is one club he’d consider leaving Los Blancos for if they ever showed interest.
“I think I could stay here my whole career, but the club of my life is Flamengo,” he told L’Équipe in 2023.
“I love life here in general, and it’s going well for my family too. When my loved ones walk around, they are recognised and they wish us nothing but happiness.
“Little by little, I discovered this new life, new emotions, a fervour… Madrid is unique. Everyone around the world tells me about this club.
“And apart from that, I like it. I’m quite a homebody, but we do a lot of activities.”
Vini Jr rose through the youth system at Flamengo, appearing 69 times for their senior team before transferring to Madrid in 2018.
The Brazilian has a chance to solidify his legacy in Real Madrid’s history with a strong showing against Barcelona in Saturday’s ‘El Clasico.’ Although he has claimed every possible club trophy, he is still in pursuit of international success.
