Willian came under fire this week as Arsenal supporters blasted the player for his physique during their pre-season friendly match against Hibernian.
The Gunners were beaten 2-1 at Easter Road in their opening pre-season game on Tuesday.
But Willian was the source of frustration for many Arsenal faithful as images from the match appeared to show him out of condition.
However, appearances can be deceiving at times as pictures from Thursday’s training session showed Willian with a leaner physique.
Well, according to fans who had attended Arsenal’s first pre-season match, Willian was wearing a weighted vest underneath his shirt which he removed after he was taken off at the break.
The former Chelsea star was seen putting the vest back on for the warm-down session after the match ended.
However, Arsenal remain open to allowing Willian to leave in order to free up their wage bill.
The Brazil international joined on a free transfer and was handed a three-year deal worth around £220,000 per week, which makes him one of their highest earners.

In his first campaign, Willian scored just one goal and provided five assists as the club finished eighth in the Premier League.
Inter Miami are keen on Willian this summer but his high wage demands mean that the MLS team are unable to reach an agreement.
