Ian Wright names the Man Utd star who is a ‘massive problem’

Ian Wright expressed high praise for Alejandro Garnacho’s display in the exhilarating FA Cup match against Liverpool, labeling him a significant challenge for the adversaries of Manchester United.

Garnacho was instrumental in United’s remarkable 4-3 win in the quarter-finals against Jurgen Klopp’s team, setting up the assist for Amad Diallo’s decisive goal in extra time.

Having made 74 appearances across various tournaments in the last two seasons, the young Argentine has emerged as a vital part of Erik ten Hag’s team. Wright is optimistic about Garnacho’s potential for further development, given his current age of 19.

Speaking on the Ringer FC podcast, the former England striker said: ‘I need to mention Garnacho because he is a massive problem for everybody.

‘In spells and in moments during that game he was doing some unbelievable things. I thought it was a very impressive performance in a massive game for him, especially considering his age.

‘As soon as they get the structure right around him he can start to learn more and know where he needs to be in a game because at the moment it’s so chaotic in there.

‘But if that happens then we’re really going to see the best of him, we really are.’

Theo Walcott, former Arsenal and England winger, commended Alejandro Garnacho for his impressive outing in the match against Liverpool, who were in pursuit of a quadruple title haul.

‘The thing about Garnacho which I always like, he always gets into spaces where it’s hard to pick him up,’ Walcott said. ‘He makes runs off the ball, but not just that, it’s his end product as well and the passion that we see.

‘He’s always available for the ball. And what I like about him, he’s always positive, every time he gets the ball. It’s a generation of inverted wingers, but he likes to go on the outside, which I really enjoy. He’s always keeping the full-back guessing. He always manages to create so much space for himself.

‘He’s always in demand, always wants the ball. He’s got that sort of arrogance about himself to try things too. Even in the 120th minute he can still do it. And not just that, he seemed to run faster and faster with the ball.

‘I feel like he’s got the veins of a Manchester United player. He’s a beautiful player.’

Manchester United’s season, marked by fluctuating performances, could have suffered a significant setback if they hadn’t managed a comeback victory against Liverpool.

Having been eliminated from the Champions League during the group phase and trailing by nine points for a top-four finish, the team is confronted with a challenging task to secure a spot in next season’s tournament.

Nevertheless, Ten Hag remains optimistic that defeating their long-standing adversaries, Liverpool, in the FA Cup will serve as a pivotal moment for Manchester United as they prepare for a semi-final match with Coventry City.

‘This could be that moment,’ said Ten Hag. ‘It can give the team the belief and energy to do amazing things. When you beat Liverpool you can beat any opponent.’
