Amid ongoing speculation about Ten Hag’s future, United’s leadership finally decided to make a change, fueling interest in who might step in next.
Xavi is seen as a strong contender, and just one day before Ten Hag’s departure was confirmed, Xavi’s wife, Nuria Cunillera, posted an Instagram story showing Xavi sitting with their son, who wore a United shirt and played with football stickers, leading fans to speculate that Xavi might take over as United’s manager.
Reports indicate that United has already begun discussions with the Barcelona legend about filling Ten Hag’s role.
However, Xavi is not the only candidate, as Sir Jim Ratcliffe is considering several options for the position.
According to Ladbrokes, Xavi is currently an 8/1 choice to become the next permanent United manager, trailing Ruud van Nistelrooy (4/6) and Ruben Amorim (4/1).
