‘You’re not at Mbappe’s level’ – Vincent Aboubakar slams Mohamed Salah

Cameroon skipper Vincent Aboubakar says he is not impressed by Mohamed Salah and believes the Liverpool attacker is not at the same level as Kylian Mbappe.

Cameroon are set to play Egypt on Thursday evening to determine who will face Senegal in the Africa Cup of Nations final on Sunday.

And Aboubakar is currently the top scorer in the tournament with six goals, while Salah has only scored two goals in the competition so far.

But despite Salah’s 16 goals in the Premier League this campaign, Aboubakar believes the Liverpool star ‘doesn’t produce a lot of stuff’ during matches.

‘He is having a great season in the Premier League, he is helping his country to advance in the competition. I wish him a lot of luck. May the best win,’ Aboubakar told RFI.

‘He doesn’t impress me much. I say it clearly because I’m an honest person and I have my way of seeing things. ‘If he impressed me, I would say so. But he doesn’t impress me much.

‘He’s a good player, he scores a lot but he doesn’t produce a lot of stuff in the game.

‘Of course, he’s doing good stuff in the Premier League because he’s been in a team that’s been there for years. ,‘He’s a good player but not at the level of some like Mbappe.’

Egypt have found it tougher to make to this stage, with a penalty-shootout win over the Ivory Coast, followed by a victory in extra-time over Morocco.

Salah was in inspired form for his country in the quarter-final win, scoring a second-half equaliser after Sofiane Boufal’s opening goal before producing a great assist for Trezeguet to score the winner in extra-time.
