The French coach returned to the Santiago Bernabeu in 2019 for a second spell in charge, having enjoyed plenty of success in his earlier stint.
However, this time around, he has not replicated similar results despite still having the opportunity of winning consecutive LaLiga titles.
Zidane has been eliminated out of the UEFA Champions League competition twice by Manchester City and Chelsea respectively.
Real are in something of a transitional phase with several important players leaving and others coming into the latter stages of their careers and Zidane has reportedly told his players of his future plans.
Ahead of his team’s league game against Athletic Bilbao on Sunday, Zidane said he could leave for everyone’s good.

“The answer is very boring. There are two games left. I don’t know what will happen after that.
“Anything could happen. This is Real Madrid. People think I would quit because I don’t want responsibility when things get complicated. That is not true. Everything I do I do to my best.
“There comes a time when there must be change because it could be good for everyone. Sometimes you must be there and other times you must leave for the good of everyone,” Zidane said.
