Zlatan Ibrahimovic close to Everton transfer move

Despite being 38 years old, Zlatan Ibrahimovic was closing in on return to AC Milan but he has turned down their £1.7million, 18-month offer to consider a move to the Premier League.

The ex-Real Madrid and Manchester United striker is believed to be holding out for double what the Italian giants put on the table.

According to Tuttosport, Ibrahimovic is closing in on a return to the Premier League, almost two years after leaving Manchester United.

And Everton could be about to pull off a major coup to capture the 11-time Ballon d’Or nominee as the Merseysiders are going through a period of transition after the sack of Marco Silva a fortnight ago.

Duncan Ferguson has held the fort well by leading his team to a win over Chelsea coupled with a 1-1 draw against the Red devils.

However, three-time Champions League winning manager Ancelotti is set to take over at the Goodison Park after flying into London to meet with club chiefs.

He could be reunited with Ibrahimovic, who he managed while being the head coach of French side Paris-Saint Germain.

Ibrahimovic’s agent Mino Raiola, who brokered the deal to take Moise Kean from Juventus to Everton this summer window, has a good relationship with the Toffees.

And Ancelotti’s suspected arrival at the club could attract a number of big-name signings when the transfer window reopens in January.

The Italian coach was sacked by Napoli last week but in October he teased linking up with his former star.

“I’ll call him tonight and say we’re waiting!’ Ancelotti joked after Napoli’s 2-0 vivtory over Hellas Verona in October.

“I have a great deal of affection for him, I saw he scored 29 goals in 30 MLS games. Tomorrow, after I’ve called him, I’ll let you know how it went!”
