Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel singled out Kurt Zouma and Jorginho for huge criticism during a lengthy team meeting after their defeat to West Brom on Saturday, according to reports.

Tuchel suffered his first loss since replacing Frank Lampard at the end of January as his team were beaten 5-2 by Sam Allardyce’s men.

Tension amongst Chelsea’s squad was raised after the result, with reports claiming that Antonio Rudiger and Kepa were involved in a row during Sunday’s training session.

It’s also reported that Reece James and Cesar Azpilicueta had an argument in the dressing room immediately after the defeat to West Brom.

According to The Athletic, Tuchel was in charge of a lengthy meeting on Sunday in which he discussed Chelsea’s performance.

The report claims that mistakes by Zouma and Jorginho were ‘particularly highlighted’ by the German coach, while the players were not allowed to give their opinions during the team meeting.

A source at Chelsea told The Athletic: ‘Watching it all back was a horror show. Tuchel was saying things like: ‘This is unacceptable, we shouldn’t be giving goals like this away. What happened to the defence here?’, etc.’

Jorginho gave the ball away in the build-up to both of Thiago Silva’s yellow cards, while his poor header also contributed to Matheus Pereira’s second goal of the match.

Zouma, meanwhile had a poor performance. ‘Everyone’s very disappointed, there’s not much I can say, Zouma said after the game.

‘Maybe we weren’t focused enough, maybe West Brom wanted it more than us, but I don’t think that’s possible. You have days like that where nothing goes your way.

‘You have to learn from everything. In football you have to give your all every time on the pitch. We learn there maybe tactically, from mistakes on the ball, without the ball too. We will analyse it calmly and then move on from there.’
