Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos has hit back at Mason Mount and says he still won’t be losing any sleep over Chelsea, though wished the club good luck in the Champions League final.
Chelsea held Real to a 1-1 draw in the first leg of their semi-final clash last week and then produced an incredible performance at Stamford Bridge in the second leg to seal a 2-0 victory and progress to the final in Istanbul.
Mount wrapped up the victory, getting a goal late on, and after the match took aim at Kroos over some comments he made before the clash.
Asked if he was feeling any pressure before playing Thomas Tuchel’s side, Kroos had said: ‘In my 15 years of playing football, I’ve never lost sleep.’
Mount responded in kind after knocking Kroos and Real Madrid out of the competition, telling CBS Sports: ‘I saw one of their players say before that he doesn’t lose sleep over individuals.
‘But as a team, they need to lose sleep over us as a team. We give so much, we defend for our lives. You saw that in not many chances that we gave away. We are solid and we need to keep that going.’
Now Kroos has reacted again, standing by his previous comments, though he did applaud Chelsea on their win and wished them well in the final against Manchester City.

Quote-tweeting Mount’s comments, Kroos wrote on his Twitter page: ‘Still sleeping OK. ‘But well done yesterday. Congrats. Good luck in your first Champions League final.’
However, some Chelsea supporters suggested there might have been a a dig from Kroos in his final remark, referencing Mount making his first major final, with the former Bayern star having won the competition four times.
Kroos won his first Champions League back in 2012-13 with Bayern Munich, and then collected three back-to-back medals between 2016 and 2018 with the Spanish side.
