Aubameyang left Arsenal in controversial circumstances in January after he fell out with Mikel Arteta and was stripped of the club’s captaincy over disciplinary issues but returned to England in the summer by signing for Chelsea.
After Aubameyang’s exit from the Emirates, Arsenal missed out on the Champions League with a late collapse in the Premier League handing fourth position to Tottenham and he hit out at Arteta in a leaked video.
The 33-year-old faced Arsenal for the first time since his high-profile exit on Sunday and after goading them in a promotional clip, he was booked after just 27 minutes as Chelsea hosted the league leaders at Stamford Bridge.
He appeared to shake hands with all of the Arsenal players before kick-off but the only player to embrace him and give him a hug was Xhaka.
Xhaka has been involved in his own couple of controversies at Arsenal but has since put those incidents behind him and has become a fan favourite at the club.
But the same cannot be said for Aubameyang after he left for Barcelona and ended up at Chelsea six months later. The Gabon international has scored only three goals in 11 appreances since he arrived in west London.
Paul Parker recently hit out at Aubameyang for his poor attitude since he made the return to the Premier League.
‘You can look at stats all day long but when you’re judging him as a player, you have to look at the person to say, are the stats relevant to his performances now?’ Parker told Bemybet.com.
‘No, stats are not relevant. Because his attitude is not good enough and that’s what everyone should talk about.
‘He is giving the wrong attitude and is giving dippy vibes. You need to show passion to want to play football and I don’t see that with Aubameyang.’
