Mikel Arteta takes dig at Chelsea for ‘not respecting’ Kai Havertz

Mikel Arteta has criticized Chelsea, alleging a lack of respect towards Kai Havertz during his time with the Blues.

The Arsenal manager suggests that the German’s newfound confidence and form stem from feeling “loved and admired” by his current club and fans.

Havertz, coming off the bench, secured the winning goal against Brentford in the 89th minute.

Arteta ensured the goal-scorer received deserving praise, bringing him in front of the traveling fans to soak up their applause.

Now, Arteta asserts that the 24-year-old’s body language and confidence have undergone a significant transformation.

‘He’s been so influential, his confidence has grown,’ Arteta said.

‘When you’re loved and admired and respected your energy and body language is so much better. That is how he is feeling now.’

Asked what he thought of Arsenal’s next match against Wolves on Saturday – who have beaten both Manchester City and Spurs this season – he said it will be a ‘tough challenge’.

‘It will be a big challenge. They have a lot of quality over there and they perform against the big sides.’

Then speaking about Arsenal’s potential this campaign, he said: ‘I think there is more levels to come. We can still improve.’
