Ronaldo named just 3 Man Utd players as ‘top professionals’ with the club planning to sell one

A “top professional” among the three Manchester United players praised by Cristiano Ronaldo is poised to leave.

In a controversial Talk TV interview with Piers Morgan in November 2022, Ronaldo criticized United, manager Erik ten Hag, and the club’s owners, the Glazer family.

During the interview, the Portugal star identified three players he considered “top professionals” during his second stint at Old Trafford.

Asked about which players he admired, Ronaldo said: “In Manchester United, I can mention [Diogo] Dalot. He’s young but very professional and I don’t doubt that he’s going to have longevity in football because he’s young, smart, intelligent and very professional.

“Probably [Lisandro] Martinez, Casemiro is in his 30s, but I will say Dalot.”

Casemiro, acknowledged by Ronaldo for his professionalism, seems poised to exit United only 18 months after joining.

Mail Online reports that Al Nassr, Ronaldo’s current team, is keen on acquiring the Brazilian.

The publication suggests that Al Nassr is exploring deals for Casemiro and United’s Aaron Wan-Bissaka, with football director John Murtough traveling to Saudi Arabia to assess the feasibility of both transfers.

The Saudi Pro League team is poised to submit a substantial offer for Casemiro, who is said to be earning over £375,000 per week at United.

Additionally, they are reportedly interested in making a bid for Wan-Bissaka this month, after their £20 million proposal for Tottenham right-back Emerson Royal was rejected.

In both cases, United is said to seek a fee, aiming to recoup part of the £70 million they invested in acquiring Casemiro. The Mail also mentioned that Ronaldo has urged his current club to pursue Casemiro.
