Yamal faced off against Musiala in the Euros quarter-finals, where Spain edged out Germany 2-1 in extra time thanks to Mikel Merino’s dramatic 119th-minute winner.
Ahead of the clash, Musiala spoke highly of Yamal’s performances at just 16 years old, drawing parallels to his own development at the same stage of his career.
“To be at this level at 16 is really amazing,” Musiala told Sky Sports.
“At 16, I didn’t have the physical prerequisites to train with the first-team. And he can consistently play and keep up at this level. That’s really cool to see.”
