Nigeria secured second place in Group C after a dominant 4–0 win against Benin, with Victor Osimhen netting a hat-trick and Frank Onyeka adding the fourth goal.
This result ensured their progression to the playoff stage, where they join other African contenders such as Gabon, Burkina Faso, and Cameroon in the race for a spot at the global tournament.
Reacting to the win, Fulham highlighted the involvement of their trio of Nigerian stars — Alex Iwobi, Calvin Bassey, and Samuel Chukwueze — who all featured in the match.
