Alexis Mac Allister scored the decisive goal in the 61st minute, clinching all three points during the league stage.
Liverpool displayed defensive strength as Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konate contributed to a shutout against a lineup featuring Vinicius Jr. and Kylian Mbappe.
Konate, whose deal expires next summer, stood out amid rumors connecting him to Real, who are actively seeking a new central defender.
The club is assessing alternatives, with David Alaba and Antonio Rudiger anticipated to exit the Bernabeu when the season concludes.
Real have targeted Konate, who could be signed without a transfer fee next summer.
Liverpool have not yet finalized a new deal, and the French defender is reportedly interested in joining the Spanish powerhouse.
Nevertheless, per Foot Mercato, Konate is no longer the main target for Real, who have turned their attention to another defender.
The publication states that Bayern Munich’s Dayot Upamecano has become the club’s leading candidate.
His contract ends in June, and the outlet reports that a verbal pact with Real is already in place.
Considering his credentials and experience, plus his status as a free agent at season’s end, Upamecano appears to be a perfect acquisition.
He also benefits from familiarity with several French teammates at Real, such as Mbappe and Eduardo Camavinga.
Xabi Alonso is also well-acquainted with him from their shared time at Bayer Leverkusen.
Upamecano is drawing interest from Paris Saint-Germain, who are keeping a close eye on developments.
He has received a renewal proposal from Bayern, though no deal has been finalized. The 27-year-old joined Bayern in the summer of 2021 after transferring from RB Leipzig.
He has featured in 166 games across all competitions for the German side, including 14 outings this season.
Upamecano was in the starting lineup for his team’s 2-1 win over PSG on Tuesday.
