Alan Shearer accuses Jadon Sancho of ‘f…… diving’ against Newcastle

Newcastle United legend Alan Shearer accused Manchester United’s Jadon Sancho of diving after the 0-0 draw at Old Trafford.

Eddie Howe’s side survived a late onslaught to earn a share of the spoils against United but they rode their luck at times.

While Newcastle may have had a penalty in the first half after Raphael Varane’s challenge on Callum Wilson, there was controversy when Sancho was denied a spot kick after the tackle from Longstaff.

The England attacker cut inside before nudging past Longstaff, who appeared to swipe the winger’s feet from under him.

But, Craig Pawson waved play on and VAR saw no reason to intervene. The decision caused outcry from the fans at Old Trafford and the home side surrounded Pawson, begging him to give a penalty.

But Pawson was not the only one that wasn’t convinced by Sancho’s appeals as Newcastle legend Shearer took to Twitter to accuse the winger of diving.

‘Keep on f……..Diving you might get one evnatually!!!’ tweeted Shearer.

Ten Hag certainly felt his team should have been awarded a spot kick but he was in no mood to publicly criticise the officials.

‘I don’t have a comment, everyone has seen it,’ said Ten Hag.

It came after Cristiano Ronaldo appealed without success in the first half to get a penalty after a collision with Kieran Trippier.

The Red Devils missed two golden opportunities in the closing stages from Fred and Marcus Rashford.

Ronaldo was replaced by Rashford with twenty minutes left and the England striker missed a headed chance in the 96th minute to wrap up three points.
