Carlo Ancelotti, the head coach of Real Madrid, has provided insights into Jurgen Klopp’s choice to exit Liverpool.
The football world was stunned in January when it was announced that Klopp would be stepping down from his role at Liverpool after the 2023/24 season.

During an emotional interview at the time, Klopp said: “It is that I am, how can I say it, running out of energy. I have no problem now, obviously, I knew it already for longer that I will have to announce it at one point, but I am absolutely fine now. I know that I cannot do the job again and again and again and again.
“After the years we had together and after all the time we spent together and after all the things we went through together, the respect grew for you, the love grew for you and the least I owe you is the truth – and that is the truth.”
The German guided Liverpool to victory in the Carabao Cup and secured a third-place finish in the Premier League during his last season as manager.
In a recent interview with il Giornale, Carlo Ancelotti, the coach of Real Madrid, mentioned that ‘excessive burdens’ might have influenced Klopp’s choice to resign.
The Italian said: “I don’t see any particular news, this has always been our job but the Klopp case is significant. The continuous pressure, the load of responsibilities become excessive burdens, the obsession takes over. It also happened to Arrigo Sacchi.”
Reflecting on close to nine years at Liverpool, Klopp said: “It’s super-special. We all felt at home, we all felt welcomed. That’s what we all felt from the start, that’s the special thing about the people in this area, Scousers, it’s really special.
“We felt supported, we felt loved, we felt everything. And yes, we delivered as well in moments and we always fought. That again is what the people expect. It was the biggest win-win situation I ever saw and experienced in my lifetime because nothing would have happened without the people here, and maybe not exactly the same would have happened if somebody else would have been in charge.”
