Arne Slot tells Liverpool star to leave club

Liverpool have reportedly informed young midfielder Stefan Bajcetic that he might be allowed to go out on loan this summer.

With the team gearing up for their first season under Dutch manager Arne Slot, Liverpool is focusing on strengthening their squad.

Slot’s pre-season tour in the USA has been successful, with victories over Real Betis, Arsenal, and Manchester United boosting team morale.

Taking over from Jürgen Klopp, Slot has made a strong start despite not adding any new signings. The club is now considering trimming their squad, which includes the possibility of Bajcetic leaving temporarily.

According to a report from DaveOCKOP (via The Anfield Talk), Liverpool have informed the Spanish teenager that a loan move this season is an option.

Bajcetic, who joined Liverpool from Celta Vigo in January 2021, had a standout season in 2022-23 but has struggled with injuries since. He made just two appearances last season due to ongoing fitness issues but is now fully recovered.

Bajcetic may need to gain match fitness elsewhere before potentially returning to Liverpool in June 2025.

Liverpool is also interested in signing Spanish international Martin Zubimendi for the holding midfield role, with confidence growing in securing the Real Sociedad player. This has influenced the decision to allow Bajcetic to go on loan.

Additionally, Liverpool has been offered the chance to sign Georgian goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili from Valencia, as reported by Fabrizio Romano.

Mamardashvili had a solid season with Valencia, conceding 41 goals in 37 league games and performing well in Euro 2024. Liverpool might sign him for around €30 million and consider loaning him out for further development.

The Reds are weighing this opportunity and will make a decision before the transfer window closes, according to Romano.
