Mikel Arteta has addressed Arsenal’s rumored interest in Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford.
The 27-year-old ignited speculation about his future earlier this week by revealing to Henry Winter that he is eager to leave United in search of a ‘new challenge.’..Continue Reading
‘When I leave it’s going to be, “no hard feelings”. You’re not going to have any negative comments from me about Manchester United. That’s me as a person,’ Rashford said.
‘If I know that a situation is already bad I’m not going to make it worse. I’ve seen how other players have left in the past and I don’t want to be that person.
‘When I leave I’ll make a statement and it will be from me.’
Bookmakers have ranked Arsenal as the third favorites, behind Paris Saint-Germain and the Saudi Pro League, to acquire Rashford during the January transfer window.
Despite this, Arteta declined to add to the speculation about a possible transfer to Arsenal in his press conference on Friday.
When asked if he believes he could reignite Rashford’s career at Arsenal, Arteta said: ‘No, and you know that I’m not going to talk about players from other clubs.’
Rashford did not feature in United’s squad for their 4-3 Carabao Cup loss to Tottenham on Thursday night. However, Ruben Amorim has confirmed that the forward will be available for the Premier League match against Bournemouth at home on Sunday.
‘Tomorrow we have training, he will be there preparing for next game,’ Amorim said on Thursday night.
‘He is a United player, everyone has a future at Man United.’
