Kai Havertz has chosen to sign for Chelsea but his current club Bayer Leverkusen want to delay the transfer until the end of August, according to reports.
Chelsea have been leading the race to sign the 21-year-old midfielder, who has already told the German side at the end of the campaign that he wants to leave this summer window.
Though, Leverkusen will not stand in his way and are open to selling the player, but they want a fee of €100 million (£89.8m) to allow him join Lampard’s side.
According to Kicker, the blues are the only team who are willing to meet Leverkusen’s valuation and Havertz has now chosen to make the move to Chelsea.
But the report claims that Bayer Leverkusen will only let Havertz leave the club once their Europa League season ends, which could be as late as August 21 if they can get to the final.
Europa League resumes next month with Leverkusen set to play the second leg of their round-of-16 game against Rangers on August 6.
The Bundesliga club are expected to progress after they beat Rangers 3-1 in the first leg and will play either Inter Milan or Getafe in the quarter-final.

The delay in Kai Havertz’s proposed transfer move to Chelsea could mean that the German star could miss the beginning of the new Premier League season.
This month, reports emerged that Havertz is attracted by the prospect of playing with Timo Werner at Chelsea and has also been impressed by Frank Lampard’s plans for club.
Chelsea are favourites to land Havertz after Bayern ruled themselves out for the signing of the midfielder because of their £55m deal to sign Leroy Sane.
