UEFA has reversed its decision regarding Jude Bellingham’s punishment for his offensive gesture directed at Slovakia during Euro 2024.
Bellingham saved England in their last-16 match against Slovakia by scoring a spectacular bicycle kick, pushing the game into extra-time.

While celebrating his goal, he appeared to make a rude gesture towards the Slovakia bench.
Following England’s 2-1 win, the Real Madrid star addressed the gesture on social media.
UEFA requested an explanation from Bellingham and also sought input from the Slovakian FA regarding the incident.
Initially, UEFA fined Bellingham €30,000 (£25,000) after their investigation.
Now, UEFA has imposed a one-match ban on Bellingham for ‘violating the basic rules of decent conduct,’ although the suspension is deferred for a year, allowing him to play against Switzerland on Saturday.
On Bellingham’s punishment, a statement read: “Said suspension is not immediately enforced and is subject to a probationary period of one year, starting from the date of the present decision.”
The 21-year-old midfielder has started all four of England’s matches at Euro 2024, scoring two goals.
He headed home his team’s only against in their tournament opener against Serbia before netting a key strike against Slovakia.
Bellingham is now set to start against the Swiss, having been cleared to play.
