Chelsea warned player they want to sell will become “one of the best in Europe”

Chelsea have been cautioned that a player they plan to sell this summer has the potential to become “one of the best strikers in Europe.”

While Todd Boehly is focused on strengthening the Stamford Bridge squad during this summer’s transfer window, with signings such as Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Tosin Adarabioyo, and Omari Kellyman, he is also working on several departures.

Chelsea have already sold Ian Maatsen, Lewis Hall, Omari Hutchinson, and Hakim Ziyech, and they are open to offers for Romelu Lukaku, Kepa Arrizabalaga, Conor Gallagher, and Trevoh Chalobah.

The Blues are also looking to offload Armando Broja, but the President of the Albanian Football Association believes this would be a mistake, predicting that Broja could develop into one of the top strikers in Europe in the coming seasons.

Broja was expected to play a significant role at Stamford Bridge following a promising loan spell at Southampton in 2021-22.

However, the 22-year-old has struggled with form and fitness, scoring just three goals over the past two seasons.

This has led Chelsea to put Broja up for sale, aiming to raise around £35 million for the Albanian international, who featured in Euro 2024 before his nation’s group-stage exit.

Despite Broja’s recent struggles, mainly due to injuries, Albania football chief Armand Duka believes the striker has the potential to become an elite player in Europe.

‘Armando is definitely one of the greatest talents in the entire history of Albanian football,’ he told Sportitalia.

‘I am a Milan fan and if Broja were to arrive at Milanello I would be doubly happy. It would undoubtedly be the best and strongest move that Milan could make in the summer market.

‘The boy has incredible talent and I think he hasn’t shown his best yet. He needs to play at club level and I think Serie A and Milan represent an excellent opportunity for him to climb to the top of European football.

‘He will be one of the best strikers in Europe. I am convinced that he is ready to try an experience in Italian football and if it happens I think it will be a success.’

Broja confirmed this week that he has received a number of offers to leave Stamford Bridge this summer.

‘It’s true, I have offers from Serie A, the Bundesliga and the Premier League,’ Broja said. ‘Staying at Chelsea? It is an option. I still have a contract here.’
