Usain Bolt named the Barcelona player who could beat him in a race

Usain Bolt has named a Barcelona player who he believes might be able to outpace him over a short 20-yard sprint.

Widely regarded as one of the greatest sprinters in history, the Jamaican icon dominated the 100m and 200m events across three straight Olympic Games from 2008 to 2016. ..Continue Reading

Now 39, Bolt amassed eight Olympic gold medals, including two in the 4x100m relay at the London and Rio Games.

His accolades go beyond Olympic glory. At the 2009 World Championships in Berlin, he set the current world records for both the 100m and 200m, clocking in at 9.58 and 19.19 seconds respectively.

He also holds the fastest time ever recorded in the 4x100m relay—36.84 seconds—achieved with teammates Yohan Blake, Michael Frater, and Nesta Carter at the London 2012 Olympics.

Still, despite his legendary speed, Bolt confessed in a chat with Darren Bent that Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford might just be able to challenge him over a short burst.

“I read an article where you said that [Marcus] Rashford could beat you over 20 yards, is that correct?,” asked Bent on talkSPORT.

Bolt offered a candid response, saying 20-yard bursts are Rashford’s specialty.

“Yeah! Rashford is quick out the blocks, that is what he does,” he replied.

“He has that burst of speed but after that, I told him, you could probably get me in 20 [yards].

“But after that, it is over!”

This summer, Rashford made a temporary switch from Usain Bolt’s cherished Manchester United to Barcelona, joining the Spanish giants on a season-long loan.

The England forward has struggled to make an impact in his early outings for the La Liga side, failing to register a goal or assist in his first three matches.

Meanwhile, Bolt is scheduled to award medals after the 100m final at the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo this Sunday.

Despite his deep loyalty to United, Bolt has previously expressed a preference for Manchester City to win the Premier League over Arsenal—even with City being one of United’s fiercest rivals.

“Everybody always asks me who I’d rather win the Premier League out of Arsenal and Man City – I’m like, ‘Man City, easy.’ People are like, ‘But they’re your rival’,” Bolt added.

“I know a lot of Arsenal fans and when they’re top of the table they talk so much and I’m like, ‘You haven’t won yet!’ Imagine if they actually won? Oh my God, It would be over. I’d rather Man City win than Arsenal because I couldn’t deal with it.

“Liverpool? No, because they’d be tied on titles with us and we can’t have that and because Arsenal talk so much, I’d rather deal with Man City.

“They’re all young fans and I don’t know many young people so I’m fine with that!”
