Real Madrid legend Iker Casillas considers Vinicius Junior to be the best player in the world right now, surpassing Cristiano Ronaldo.
However, the former goalkeeper was quick to clarify that he still regards the Portuguese star as the greatest of all time.

It’s understandable why Casillas favors the Brazilian winger over Ronaldo at the moment.
At 39, Ronaldo is playing in the Saudi Pro League, while Vinicius continues to excel at the highest level with Real Madrid, giving him an advantage.
Additionally, the 23-year-old Brazilian had an outstanding season with the Spanish giants, scoring 24 goals and providing 11 assists in 39 matches across various competitions.
He played a crucial role in helping Real Madrid win the UEFA Champions League, La Liga, and the Supercopa de Espana.
When asked about the best player in the world, Casillas said (via @MadridXtra): “The best player in the world? Vinicius. Cristiano? Cristiano for all, always, but now Vinicius.”
Ronaldo is undoubtedly one of the all-time greats, given his remarkable career achievements. He has won the Ballon d’Or five times and lifted the UEFA Champions League trophy five times as well.
The Al-Nassr star has also secured three Premier League titles, two La Liga titles, and two Serie A titles, among other accolades.
However, his Euro 2024 campaign was disappointing, as he failed to score in five appearances for Portugal.
The Selecao were eliminated from the tournament after losing to France on penalties (5-3) following a goalless draw that extended to 120 minutes.
Casillas and Ronaldo shared the field 228 times for Real Madrid across various competitions, securing 170 victories together.
