Roman Abramovich has reportedly prepared a five-man shortlist of potential candidates to take over from Frank Lampard should he fail to turn things around at the club.
Chelsea currently sit ninth on the Premier League table, seven points behind league leaders Liverpool and Manchester United, despite spending up to £200m in the summer window.
Chelsea sanctioned the transfers of seven players which includes Kai Havertz, Timo Werner, Hakim Ziyech and Thiago Silva.
However, despite last summer’s new signings, Lampard has so far struggled to get the London side firing on all cylinders.
Chelsea have won only two of their last eight games in all competitions during a four-week period which has seen the club suffer defeats to Arsenal (3-1) and Manchester City (3-1).

After such a poor period of results over the jammed packed festive period, the pressure is now beginning to mount on the former Derby head coach.
According to a recent report from the Daily Mail, the blues’ hierarchy are prepared to give Lampard more time but will insist that results pick up as soon as possible.
Should the team fail to do so, the Daily Mail claim Chelsea have identified Massimiliano Allegri, Julian Nagelsmann, Ralf Rangnick, Thomas Tuchel and Southampton’s Ralph Hasenhüttl all as possible replacements.
