Chelsea are eyeing a transfer move for Atletico Madrid midfielder Saul Niguez this summer, according to reports.
Thomas Tuchel took over from Frank Lampard as Chelsea boss at the end of January and led the club to Champions League glory, as well as a top-four finish in the Premier League.
The German coach is looking to bolster his squad ahead of next campaign, with the summer transfer window set to open on June 9.
Accorsing to AS, the Atletico Madrid star is a player that both Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain have ‘in their sights’ ahead of this summer.
Niguez played 33 matches in La Liga in the 2020/21 season as Diego Simeone’s team lifted the league title.
The report claims that while in previous years, the Spanish club have been unwilling to let him leave, that stance has softened due to the economic impact of the Coronavirus pandemic.
While there has been no official approach from either club yet, more clarity is believed to be expected in the coming weeks.

Meanwhile, Bayern Munich and Manchester United have also been heavily linked with a move for the Spain international.
Niguez was a notable omission from Spain’s squad for Euro 2020, with Luis Enrique choosing Marcos Llorente, Sergio Busquets, Rodri, Pedri, Thiago, Koke, Fabian, Dani Olmo and Pablo Sarabia as his options in midfield.
