Shakhtar Donetsk captain Darijo Srna has dropped an important hint that Fred is on his way to either of the Manchester teams in the Premier League this summer.
Fred has made 153 appearances for Shakhtar since joining in 2013 but the 25-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League in recent weeks.
The Brazilian won the Ukrainian Cup with Shakhtar on Wednesday in what could be one of his final games for the club, and he uploaded a video of the team’s celebrations in the changing room.
Fred made his way around a number of team-mates before grabbing Srna for a word.
‘Let’s go, Brazil…Champions, champions!’ Srna can be heard saying on Fred’s Live Instagram.
‘Fred now is going to Manchester. He doesn’t know if it’s City or United. Let’s know!’
Fred then laughs before looking for more team-mates.
Reports last month claimed that City had pulled out of the race for Fred’s signature and United are now in the position to sign the Brazil international.
Shakhtar chief executive Sergei Palkin conceded in March that Fred is set for a transfer to Manchester this summer.
‘Fred will leave in June. If not to Manchester City, then to Manchester United,’ Palkin told Corriere dello Sport .
‘He is ready for the best championships. ‘In addition to being very good, Fred is very professional.’
Fred’s agent – Arsenal legend Gilberto Silva – has revealed that Fred is interested in a move to England.
He told Sky Sports : ‘Yes (we’ve had inquiries from the Premier League). We had in this last window but it didn’t happen.

‘Shakhtar Donetsk rely too much on him, he’s doing a great job for the club. Let’s see for the summer.
‘I’ve been talking to him telling his to concentrate on his job. This is all he can do. The chance will come [to move], but he needs to focus.
‘It’s easy to get lost amid rumours which sometimes aren’t true.’
