William Gallas has named Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante ‘the best player in the world’ as France prepare to start their Euro 2020 campaign.
France, the reigning world champions, are among the favourites to win the competition and begin their campaign with a big clash fixture against Germany.
Kante is coming off the back of a superb season with Chelsea where he played a key role in the club’s Champions League triumph under Thomas Tuchel.
And former Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham player Gallas believes it is time for his countryman to be recognised as the best on the planet.
‘Everybody loves N’Golo and it is easy to see why.’ Gallas told 101 Great Goals. ‘For me at the moment he is the best player in the world.
‘I know people will talk about strikers because fans like to see goals and they appreciate attacking players more. ‘But if you look at what N’Golo has done since he arrived in England it is phenomenal.
‘He won the league with Leicester, then went to Chelsea and won it there, he has won the Europa League and now the Champions League as well as winning the World Cup with France.
