Amadou Haidara has responded to speculation linking him with a move to Manchester United and concedes he supported the club while growing up and was a ‘big fan’ of five club legends.
Interim boss Ralf Rangnick reportedly wants to make Haidara his first signing since taking over from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in the Old Trafford hot-seat.
Haidara has established himself as one of RB Leipzig’s best players and Rangnick signed him while he was at the club.

The Mali international says he ‘feels good’ at Leipzig but appeared to hint he would be interested in a move to United by outing himself as a former Red Devils supporter.
‘Everyone had a favourite team as a kid. Mine was Manchester United,’ Haidara told Bild.
‘I was a big fan of Cristiano Ronaldo, I liked Paul Scholes, Patrice Evra, Edwin van der Sar, Anderson. ‘But if you want to talk to me about rumours: I’m at Leipzig and I feel good.’
Haidara says he is ‘very grateful’ to Rangnick for showing faith in him at Bundesliga side RB Leipzig and giving him ‘great confidence’ on the pitch.
Rangnick spent four years at Leipzig before moving to Russian side Lokomotiv Moscow in an executive role and later becoming the Red devils’ caretaker manager.
‘Yes, Ralf plays a very big role in my career,’ Haidara added. ‘Don’t forget, when Leipzig wanted to get me, I tore my cruciate ligament.
‘But Ralf said that I should come anyway. I wouldn’t have expected that back then. I’m very grateful to him because he really wanted me and gave me great confidence as a coach in Leipzig.
‘He later told me to stay with RB and trust that Julian Nagelsmann would make me better.’
